Christmas Penguins

I saw the absolute cutest Christmas penguin manicure from Robin Moses & I had to try it on myself. I used Orly Sweet Peacock as my base color which I am absolutely obsessed with. It's such a gorgeous blue. I don't have anything like it. On my ring finger I painted the penguin using her tutorial. Here's the link: Simple Penguin Santa: Robin Moses and here are the pictures:

Day 17 - Glitter

LOVE GLITTER!! I had a hard time trying to figure out which glitter nail polish to use but I just bought this Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear nail polish in Red Carpet. It's a gorgeous red with tiny glitter in it that makes the nail polish look like glass. Omg I love! I wish they had a million colors like this one. I figured I would make it a Christmas design too. I've been wanting to do a Christmas design and I thought this would be a good color to use. Here are the pics:

Here is the link for the tutorial I got the idea from to do the bow: MissChievous Christmas Gift Wrap Nails For the rhinestone I used one of the Hello Kitty sticker decals that are sold at Sephora.

Day 16 - Tribal Print

There are a lot of pictures in this post!
Here is a picture of my inspiration:
For this challenge I used Sonia Kashuk's nail polish in the color Fatigue. I never used her nail polish before but they were on sale at Target for about $5 instead of $10 so I bought one. I love this color. I don't have anything like it. This is the color without the design:
I know everyone says not to upload photos that you took from your phone, but honestly my phone takes better pictures than my camera! This color is perfect for fall/winter. Finally, here's the design:

Not a big fan of the tribal designs but I'm glad I got to try it out for my challenge.

Day 15 - Delicate Print

I tried so hard to get perfect pictures of my nails but you just can't see how pretty these are unless you see them in person. I used Sally Hansen White On & Spoiled by Wet n Wild in Shaken Snow Globe. I love this mani, it looks like fresh untouched snow in the sun. The Shaken Snow Globe is a thick jelly clear base with little holographic glitters (correct me if I'm wrong, I still don't know the correct terms for the different kinds of nail polishes).

Liebster Award

Yay! I'm so excited! A Girl and Her Polish nominated me for the Liebster Award! Woo! My first blog award :) Thank you so so much! It really means a lot.

"Leibster" is a German word which means dearest or beloved, but it can also mean favorite. The idea of the Liebster Award is that it is given to bloggers who have less than 200 followers, all in the spirit of fostering new connections and to bring attention to these brilliant blogs!

The rules are:

  1. Thank the giver and link back to the blogger who gave it to you
  2. Reveal the five blogs you have chosen and let them know by leaving a comment on their blog
  3. Copy and paste the award on your blog
  4. Request that people you have sent the award to forward it on to their favorite bloggers

Here are my nominations:

Day 14 - Flowers

My mom got a bouquet of flowers for her birthday about a week ago and she mentioned throwing them out because they were dying. That's when I got the idea to put the petals on my nails for my Day 14 challenge. I think this design looks so Lady GaGa. It's a little crazy but I love that it's crazy. Here are the pictures:

I don't think I would keep these nails on but for the challenge they look pretty cool! CVS was having a sale today on all Sally Hansen products - buy 1 get 1 half off; so I bought two nail polishes. I bought Xtreme Wear in Green With Envy (which is the base coat I used for this) & White On. I also bought two other nail polishes that I just saw in CVS so I'm assuming they're new. They're Spoiled by Wet n Wild in Shaken Snow Globe which is a white and holographic glitter in a clear base (I put it on top of the green in this challenge) and Show Me the Money which are green in gold glitters in a clear base. I thought they would be good for Christmas. Has anyone else heard of this brand? Let me know what you guys think about this manicure!

Day 13 - Animal Print

I am doing a horrible job keeping up with this challenge but I'm not giving up. School has kept me so busy so I have absolutely no time to blog. I bought a polish from nails inc back in October and I never used it. I was dying to use it so I decided to use it for this challenge even though I wanted to stay away from the zebra print because I always do it and I want to try something else. I used Sloane Square 3D Special Effects glitter for this manicure. I honestly love this color. The glitter is awesome. There are little dark grey/silver glitter with some round larger multi colored glitter which give it an awesome look. Here is the polish without the animal print on it.

For some reason my ring finger and pinky finger only need 2 coats but the rest of my fingers were coming out pretty light I can't figure out why. So on half of my hand I used 3 coats (weird). It looks even more amazing with the zebra print and I'm pretty obsessed with this mani.

I did the zebra free hand. I also used Sally Hansen Mega Shine top coat because the polish was pretty dull. It's also gritty so I needed to smooth it out.
Here's a better picture I took today in the sunlight.

Day 12 - Stripes

The challenge for Day 12 is stripes. I just got the Victoria's Secret magazine in the mail and for the holidays they do a red and pink stripe design. On the first page was a picture of a pair of pajamas with this exact design (I tried to find a picture but I couldn't find one). My index finger came out the best but I think it's because I concentrated on that one the most. I was being a little lazy. These are girly & perfect for the holidays :) I used Milani Neon in Pink Hottie, Anise in Lady Dangerous, and Kiss Nail Art Paint in silver.

Day 11 - Polka Dots

For this challenge I was inspired by Minnie Mouse! When I heard polka dots she was the first thing I thought of. I loved Minnie Mouse when I was little. I had a stuffed animal of her and I never put it down! For the red I used Anise (I don't know if anyone has ever heard of that brand but they sell it at Annie Sez and I absolutely love it) in Lady Danger. It's only one coat. I used a dotting tool for the polka dots and the ears. I made a curved black tip on my ring finger for the top of Minnie's head. I wish my nails were just a little thicker so I could've spread the ears further apart but it gives you the idea. Oh, and I filed down my nails. I hate having long nails I feel like their constantly in the way of things & I like the way my nails look so much better short.

Day 10 - Gradient Nails

For this challenge I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Lacey Lilac (the top color),  OPI Funky Dunkey (middle color), & OPI Siberian Nights (bottom color). This was my first time doing gradient nails so I'm not sure if I did them exactly right.
