Sephora by OPI - Mini Glimmer Wonderland Collection (Picture Heavy!)

This was a Christmas gift from my neighbor and as soon as I saw the colors I knew I was going to be obsessed. There were only two colors I was disappointed in.
The first color is called 'Bare to Be Different'. It's an extremely sheer, extremely light pink. It almost looked like a clear top coat with a tiny hint of pink. I wasn't a huge fan of this color because I don't love sheers. This is one of the colors I didn't like.
The second color I absolutely love! It's called 'Looks Like Rain Dear'. It's a sheer gold jelly with tiny silver glitter and a bit larger holographic glitter. I used two top coats and it gave me full coverage. I didn't think I would like this color from the bottle but when it was on my nails I loved it.

The next color is called 'Sample Sale'. Again, I'm not a huge fan of reds but this one was pretty nice. It has a really nice shimmer to it.

The next color I absolutely hated. It's called 'Never Enough Shoes'. It's a sheer black that becomes opaque after two coats. It has a little shimmer to it and I can't really tell what color the shimmer is because the black polish just swallows the shimmer. On my nails it looked like absolute crap and you could barely see the shimmer. You especially cannot see it in the pictures. Definitely my least favorite from the collection. Bleh. Gross.

The next color I love! It's called 'No-el if I Know'. It's little holographic glitters in a clear jelly base. I used it as a top coat over the gross 'Never Enough Shoes' because I love how holographic glitter looks over dark nail polish. The pictures definitely didn't show how awesome this glitter it but in person it looks like stars in the night sky. I took a couple of pictures of this to try and get some good pictures of it but it just wasn't working out.

And finally the last color, ' Already Famous'. I have to say I really love this color. It's like a foil champagne color. It looks more like a taupe or bronze color in the bottle but on my nails it really looked like a champagne color.

Make Up!

I know this isn't about nails but who doesn't love to hear about make up. Sephora had a huge after Christmas sale - they put a bunch of stuff on sale and then there was an extra 20% off. So I used some Christmas gift money and bought myself some make up! I purchased the Tarte for True Blood eyeshadow palette (unfortunately they do not have it for sale anymore) which was valued to be $355 and I purchased it for a little less than $40; a Hello Kitty make up bag (because I'm obsessed with Hello Kitty) which is originally $20 I got it for $18 (not a huge difference but I still wanted it); Hello Kitty Noir 5-piece Brush Set in black the original price is $55 I got it for $32; Violent Lips temporary tattoos for $7 which are originally $14; the Kat von D True Romance Eyeshadow Palette in Metal Orchestra for $18 the original price is $24; and a Make Up Forever Eyeshadow Palette in Rock Forever for around $30 the original price was around $70. Here are some pictures:

This is the Kat Von D Eyeshadow Palette - the last eyeshadow is a cream. The packaging was so cute. I never tried her eyeshadows before & I still haven't used this palette so I couldn't tell you if it's good or not but I'm sure it is.

This is the Tarte for True Blood eyeshadow palette that came with 17 awesome eyeshadows, a sample size eyeshadow primer, a sample size mascara, and a full size eyeliner. I used this palette already and it is pretty amazing. And the packaging is so fabulous. I love True Blood so this really got me excited. It also comes with 4 tutorials.

This is the Make Up Forever eyeshadow palette (I haven't used this one either but I'm looking forward to it). The packaging was also really cute & this also came with 2 tutorials on how to apply the eyeshadow. I really can't wait to use this one because I've heard so many great things about the Make Up Forever line.

This is the Hello Kitty brush set I got. I still haven't received it in the mail yet so I'm just posting a picture from Sephora. How freakin cute is it? I'm already obsessed and I didn't even get it yet.

And if you haven't heard of Violent Lips yet, you must check them out! Here's a YouTube video about them and how to apply them. This is a video from Kandee Johnson I love watching her videos. Glitterati Lip Tattoo & Lip Word Tattoo. Sorry this post is so long but I wanted to share this with you guys & the Sephora sale ends today so hurry and check it out if you're interested. Some of their nail polishes are on sale too!

New Cuticle Product!

My boyfriend's mom knows that I'm obsessed with my nails and she had this old container of this cuticle cream that she found. I was thinking in my head this can't possibly be better than my Burts Bees cuticle cream, but guess what? It's SO much better!! I'm in such absolute shock with how good this product is! It's unbelievable. Please, please, please you HAVE to buy this. It's called Healthy Hoof Intensive Protein Treatment. It's for your cuticles and nails. There are a whole bunch of websites where you can purchase it from. A pharmacy by my house sells it. I haven't seen it in a CVS or Duane Read but I'm definitely going to look for it. Here is a website I found it on BeautyDeals.net I have to 1 oz container of it and it will honestly last me months and it's only $3.19 on this website. My cuticles have been absolutely horrible because of the winter and in one use of this my cuticles look 100 times better. Here is what it looks like in case you want to look for it in stores.
I should've taken a picture of my cuticles before and after. I didn't even have to apply this everyday. I've been using it every other day because I don't have to keep applying it that's how amazing it is. You can also use it on your nails to make them stronger. If any of you purchase this product or have used it please let me know if you like it or not.

New Year Nails!

I can't believe how long I haven't been on here! I'm so sorry! I just haven't found the time with the holidays but I promise I will be blogging a lot more! So let's start with the manicure I did for New Years Eve. I wanted something glitzy but not too crazy. I decided to try a design that I've never tried before. I used tape for this manicure. Here's how it looks:
I painted my pointer and ring finger in the color Silver from Forever 21's nail polish line Love & Beauty; and I painted my middle finger and pinky in Revlon's Gold Coin. Then I used painter's tape because I really didn't want to get any nail polish underneath the tape and since it was my first time doing this I didn't trust myself using regular scotch tape. I didn't go out to buy it I had it in my house because I'm painting my room over. So I cut strips of the tape to make thin lines and I taped them over my nails when it was 100% dry. Then I painted over everything with Sinful Color's Black on Black. When that dried I slowly and carefully peeled the tape off. It didn't come out 100% perfect but I think it came out pretty good. I got a lot of compliments on this manicure from people who saw it. It's not glitzy and glittery but it definitely catches the eye and makes a statement. I'm looking forward to trying more designs using tape. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday & I wish you all a happy & healthy new year! :)

Christmas Penguins

I saw the absolute cutest Christmas penguin manicure from Robin Moses & I had to try it on myself. I used Orly Sweet Peacock as my base color which I am absolutely obsessed with. It's such a gorgeous blue. I don't have anything like it. On my ring finger I painted the penguin using her tutorial. Here's the link: Simple Penguin Santa: Robin Moses and here are the pictures:

Day 17 - Glitter

LOVE GLITTER!! I had a hard time trying to figure out which glitter nail polish to use but I just bought this Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear nail polish in Red Carpet. It's a gorgeous red with tiny glitter in it that makes the nail polish look like glass. Omg I love! I wish they had a million colors like this one. I figured I would make it a Christmas design too. I've been wanting to do a Christmas design and I thought this would be a good color to use. Here are the pics:

Here is the link for the tutorial I got the idea from to do the bow: MissChievous Christmas Gift Wrap Nails For the rhinestone I used one of the Hello Kitty sticker decals that are sold at Sephora.

Day 16 - Tribal Print

There are a lot of pictures in this post!
Here is a picture of my inspiration:
For this challenge I used Sonia Kashuk's nail polish in the color Fatigue. I never used her nail polish before but they were on sale at Target for about $5 instead of $10 so I bought one. I love this color. I don't have anything like it. This is the color without the design:
I know everyone says not to upload photos that you took from your phone, but honestly my phone takes better pictures than my camera! This color is perfect for fall/winter. Finally, here's the design:

Not a big fan of the tribal designs but I'm glad I got to try it out for my challenge.
