Taping Mani

Lauren Conrad posted a picture on Twitter of her friend's manicure & it looked so fabulous I had to try it. Now I'm seeing it every where on people's blogs lol.. I got this nail polish for Christmas and never used it so I figured I could use it in this mani. For my base I used Sinful Colors Black on Black with Essie's Matte About You over it. Then I used painter's tape because I feel like it makes my lines my precise than regular tape. For the triangles I used a nail polish from Forever 21's Love & Beauty line. I personally love Forever 21's nail polish, it's affordable & the quality isn't bad at all. I unfortunately do not know the name of it because the sticker on the back was ripped off. It has super tiny holographic glitter in a clear jelly base. You definitely need a couple of coats for it to be opaque. I has a problem with my matte top coat. For some reason it made my nail polish dent and left white dots on my nails when it dried. I don't know if this has happened to anyone else. You'll probably be able to see it in the pictures.

Wet n Wild Megalast Spring 2012 Collection

First I need to start with I'm almost at 100 followers. When I first started this blog I never thought I would have any followers at all. It makes me so happy that I have 83 now! When I get to 100 followers I will be having a giveaway as a way to say thank you to all of you who continue to come to my blog and read my posts! You're all amazing :)

I stopped at Walgreens over the weekend & they had a sale on Wet n Wild products. I've been looking every where for these colors after I saw them on someone's blog. They so pretty & so affordable. The sale was buy 2 get 1 free & the polishes are only $1.99. The 3 colors I bought were I Need a Refresh-Mint, Tropicalia, and On a Trip. For all of the colors I put a picture of it in direct sunlight and one inside in the shade to show the differences, except for On a Trip that one was coming out exactly the same.

I'll start with my absolute favorite one out of the tree: I Need a Refresh-Mint. I'm so obsessed with these mint green colors. I have so many of them & I still can't get enough of them. The consistency was perfect. It was opaque in one coat. In the pictures it was coming out a little more blue than green. I've heard people say this color is extremely similar to Essie's Mint Candy Apple & L'Oreal's Club Prive. If anyone wants me to do swatches of them together to see how similar they are, let me know!

Tropicalia is a gorgeous bright pink perfect for summer. This also went on great, opaque in one coat. This color is nothing special/unique but it's still so pretty.

On a Trip is a beautiful bright purple. This one needed 2 coats to be opaque, it was a little sheer on the first coat. Again, this one isn't special/unique either but it's still so pretty.

The only thing I seriously do not like about these polishes is the new brush. I absolutely hate it! It's way to wide and thick for my liking. I really need to get used to it. I hate that a lot of nail polish brands are changing their brushes and making them wider. I have small nails and I don't like the idea of 'one swipe & you're done'.. Even though I have small nails & it should work I don't like it. I have to be super careful when I paint my edges. I don't like clean up so I try to do it as precise as I can. In all of my pictures that's how I just paint my nail, there's no clean up. But I do think if you see these polishes you should definitely buy them!

Peace, Love & Lush and My First Half Moon Mani!

I feel like I have so much to say today! I'm patiently waiting for my package from LUSH to come. This is the first time I've ever purchased any of their products. I heard great reviews about the Bubble Gum Lip Scrub & I love anything for my lips & I really needed a scrub so I figured I'd try LUSH since so many people rave about their products. I also purchased the Lemony Flutter cream, which I heard is great for your cuticles. I went to Macy's looking for LUSH because they had a corner set up for the products but it wasn't there anymore. The woman who worked at Macy's said the only place I could find LUSH products was at the Macy's on 34th Street in Herald Sq. Does anyone know if they sell LUSH products in store anymore or if it's just online?

Next I want to talk about 'Peace, Love and Lush'. I just found Bea's blog, which is fabulous. She's campaigning against bullying and 'bitchiness' in blogging and YouTubing, which I think is great. I CANNOT stand when people leave hateful & mean comments to other people on the computer. First of all, just because you're hiding behind a computer screen does not mean it's ok for you to write nasty things just because no one knows who you are. Bloggers & YouTubers put so much time & effort into their work and it's just horrible when other people discourage them with rude comments. 'If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all.' I love reading blogs & watching YouTube videos to get helpful tips & find out about products before I spend money on them to see if their worth it & I've seen so many girls get discouraged from writing and filming because people say such nasty things to them. Us girls have to stick together! Check out Bea's post on her experience with it here: Beabarella:Beauty and Fashion. We don't all have to agree on everything & I'm all for expressing your own opinion, but don't be nasty about it! She created a button also so if you are all for peace & love and against bullying & 'bitchiness' post this button onto the side bar of your blog!

Now onto my first half moon mani! Woo hoo! I did this mani on Tuesday and on Wednesday I went to Sephora and was checking out their new Spring nail polishes and the manicure on the display ad was the one I had on my hands! I was like WHAT?! lol They did a half moon mani using a nude & a hot pink. It didn't come out perfect, but it was my first time.

My ring finger I used Brucci - Victoria's Blue Eyes, my middle finger is Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Mellow Yellow, my ring finger is Milani - Tropical Fiesta (this is like the display in Sephora), and my pinky is Essie - To Buy or Not to Buy from the Spring 2012 Collection. The nude color I used was Essie - Brooch the Subject from the Winter 2011 Collection. I did a mani using these colors with a regular french - you can see it here.

Thanks for reading this long post! Hope you all have a great day :)

Essie - A Crewed Interest

For Valentine's Day my boyfriend got me the Essie Navigate Her Spring 2012 Collection.. woo hoo!! I love all of the colors in this collection & I can't wait for Spring & Summer to come so I can wear these! A Crewed Interest is a gorgeous peach color that would look awesome with a tan :) But it looks great on right now too. I got a compliment on the color today.. It really stands out. It was a little annoying to apply, I had to use 3 coats.

My mom for Valentine's Day (we're always each others Valentines) got me the Super Orgasm set from Nars with a nail polish, blush, and lip gloss. I wanted to try out the nail polish with this color because it was some what similar, I thought they would look good together.
When I tried it on a naked nail there was absolutely no color to it, you just saw the gold sparkles. When I put it over A Crewed Interest the color in the bottle showed up on the nail. I love the polish color, salmon pink with gold sparkles. I think I'm going to try it over white next time & use 2 coats.

L'Oreal - Club Prive

I saw this color in Glamour's March 2012 issue & I was like OMG I have to have it. I have so many blue's, green's, and aqua's but I can never have enough of those colors. They're my favorite nail colors. I'm so excited that those are the colors that are in for Spring. Of course I stopped at every drug store looking for this color & I finally found it and was like YAY! It's just a gorgeous blue/green and reminds me of summer and I just love it, even if it's not unique. It's not so opaque, the first coat was pretty sheer, but 2 coats of this is perfect. I took the pictures in my house in normal lighting because when I would take the pictures in the sun the color didn't look right, the color looked more like an aqua than a blue/green.

Late Valentine's Day Mani

I had this post saved in my drafts & I never finished it. Sorry for it being late! For this mani I used Ulta nail polish in the color Fuchsiamania. It's a gorgeous pink, perfect for summer. To make the XO I used Essie in Fiji. I should've probably used a darker light pink because this looks like it's white. Oh well. I thought this mani was cute & simple :) Hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day :)

Valentine's Day Nails #2!

I have another Valentine's Day manicure today! I saw this on YouTube last year & I really love it. I will post the link on the bottom of the page. For this manicure I painted my nails with Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in White Out. I sponged on Ulta nail polish in the color Fuchsiamania and OPI Pink Friday from the Nicki Minaj collection. I keep using Pink Friday in my manicures. I freakin love that color and it's perfect for Valentine's Day nail art. I think I should go and get another bottle! Then I painted black hearts using a nail art polish. Here are the pics:

& here is the YouTube video on how to do it & where I got the design from:

Valentine's Day Nails!

Valentine's Day is coming up! I don't know about you but I think if you're in a relationship every day should be Valentine's Day lol.. I never really got into the whole Valentine's Day thing but it's so cute for nail art. I have a couple of other nail designs in mind so this is just the first one I'm showing you guys! It's so simple but it's so so cute.. I love it.

I used Pink Friday from the OPI Nicki Minaj Collection and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in White Out. To make the heart design I just used a toothpick. If you guys do any Valentine's Day nail art leave the link in the comments. I'd love to see them :)

Sephora by OPI - 212-Sephora

I'm SO excited to show you guys this nail polish.. I bought it in December while I was doing Christmas shopping in Sephora and of course I had to go look at the nail polishes. None of the Sephora by OPI nail polishes ever really made me go OMG I have to have that color but I took a look anyway and I'm so glad I did.. I never saw this one before and it was hiding on the bottom shelf and I absolutely love love love it. It's called 212-Sephora (obv) and it's named that for the Times Square location (that's the phone number). So I looked at other blogs who swatched this color and their saying it's sold out and that it was a limited edition & that it was only sold at the Times Square Sephora but I found it at a different one in Manhattan so I'm not really sure what the story is with that. But it has flakies & glitter all in one. The polish is a sheer black that needs about 2-3 coats to become opaque or you could just layer this over a black nail polish and use it as a top coat. I used 3 coats in these pictures. So the flakies are orange/green and there's holographic glitter. The nail polish doesn't look completely black because of everything that's going on in the polish so it looks sort of copper. Another blog I read said that the nail polish was supposed to represent the streets of Manhattan with the glitter being the lit up night sky & all of the action going on & the orange flakies being the embers of cigarette ashes on the sidewalk. That made me love it even more. I love Manhattan already and to walk around with it on your nails? I die. Here are all of the pics I took because I really want to try and show you all how amazing this polish is. Oh, and I believe this polish came out in 09? But I never saw it until last December! Wish I would've found this sooner.. I might have to go back and get another bottle.

Ulta Howl at the Moon with Essie's As Gold As It Gets

So one of the nail polishes I never wore was this Ulta brand one called Howl at the Moon. I got it for Christmas and it came in a pack of 2. The other color is like a raspberry red and I think it was called Vampire Kiss. Gorgeous colors. I never tried an Ulta brand nail polish before this & I really like them. This color wasn't opaque but with 2 coats it looked perfect. My friend Adriana let me borrow her Essie As Gold As It Gets top coat because she's so fabulous. I painted her nails last week - I used Essie's Sew Psyched as a base coat and put Essie's As Gold As It Gets over it, it looked so good. I love the green and gold together. I'm trying to find the picture of the manicure but I can't find it :( I thought I would try a dark blue as a base. I really love these 2 colors together.
